Foundation Year Program
The Foundation Year Program is designed to accommodate students recommended by the Ministry of Education to be considered for admission the following academic year. The foundation English component focuses on general English use in both spoken and written language. The English courses provide students with opportunities to develop greater facility and confidence in using English through a variety of communicative tasks that develop the language skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Science courses cover both biological and physical sciences. Various teaching strategies are used to deliver fundamental content knowledge in the biological and physical sciences appropriate for teachers involved in primary school education. Mathematics courses cover a range of core mathematical concepts to enhance mathematics mastery and to provide weaker students with reinforcement opportunities in number theory and geometry. Arabic courses cover advanced Arabic skills in Modern Standard Arabic. Finally, a study skills course provides skills for success in university academic courses.
