Initial Teacher Education Department Head Dr. Masooma Al Mutawah at International Organization of Folk Art in Valencia, Spain

Dr. Masooma Al Mutawah, Head of the Department of Initial Teacher Education, participated as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Organization of Folk Art in Valencia, Spain, to discuss the outcomes of the UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage conference in Mauritius. The meeting resulted in the Executive Committee’s election of a delegation to participate in the International Conference of NGOs, which will be held in Paris. The meeting also resulted in approving 60 abstracts that will be included in the International Convention, “Folk Culture: Present and Future Pathways”, which is to be held in April 2019, along with the General Assembly in Sharjah, UAE, in cooperation with the Sharjah Institute for Heritage and under the patronage of his highness Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, the sovereign ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah. Al Mutawah also was invited by University of Valencia to attend their 50 year anniversary celebration. Several meetings were held to discuss possible avenues for scientific collaboration between the university and the organization.
