EdM (Master of Education) in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies (PreK-12) offered by Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development in Partnership with the Bahrain Teachers College

A master's degree, offered by Boston University, in cooperation with the Bahrain Teachers College, to enhance knowledge and skill in school leadership. The diploma will be from Boston University, offering graduate education for a specially-designed cohort recruited from within Bahrain. By applying through the Boston University-Bahrain Teachers College partnership, candidates will pay a reduced fee. 


Boston University (BU) is a highly ranked private research university in the United States.  BU's Wheelock College of Education & Human Development is a top-ranked college that focuses on cross-disciplinary research, experiential learning, and community engagement. We seek to empower our students, faculty, and staff to reshape the systems that impact learning and human development, more firmly centering them in justice, diversity, and belonging.

In partnership with the Bahrain Teachers College, this program is offered to practicing and aspiring school leaders within Bahrain to build their skills and knowledge needed to raise school performance and increase the educational outcomes in the Kingdom of Bahrain. 


The program will be offered in an online format with a community of students from Bahrain. BU faculty collaborate with BTC faculty to understand the needs among Bahrain's educational leaders. Annually, BU faculty will travel to Bahrain to build community and engage further with the Bahrain educational community.  


Applications for Fall 2022 will be reviewed beginning in June 2022 on a rolling basis and the program will likely reach capacity; for priority consideration, please apply early.  The deadline for application submission is July 1st, 2022. Cohorts will enroll beginning in Fall 2022.  In Fall 2022-Spring 2023, students will meet in live zoom sessions led remotely by BU Wheelock Faculty offered on Monday and Wednesdays from 4:30PM-6:15PM Bahrain time.  Boston University’s Fall 2022 Semester dates are available HERE.


Students will enroll in two online classes per semester for four semesters to complete the 8-course master’s degree in two years.  In their second year, students may enroll in their choice of two electives from several online courses offered to BU Wheelock online master’s students from a range of programs. To qualify for the tuition discount via the Bahrain Teachers College partnership, applicants must contact maljaber@uob.edu.bh to be included in this partnership-based cohort.
