The BTC is the college of education for the teachers and school leaders of Bahrain. It is an important part of Bahrain’s Vision 2030 and works directly with teachers and schools to prepare children and youth for an exciting and productive life in 21stC Bahrain. However the demands on modern teachers are exhaustive and school personnel must work hard during and after classes to stay current and to adapt their teaching to meet the higher standards of the system. Teachers today must ensure their students have an energetic and robust curriculum and that they are assessed in authentic and meaningful ways. Teachers must be prepared to intervene early should they find students falling behind and unable to meet curriculum standards. Teaching must be student centered, information rich and cater to diverse learning styles. Schools must be grounded in their community and work with community groups to remove the barriers to student learning.
The BTC is here to help all teachers and school leaders to teach and manage schools to a higher level. To do this we must be accessible and we must engage in thoughtful and long term research projects with teachers and school leaders. Short and longer courses of study are available to all school personnel in a technology enriched environment.Teachers careers should be punctuated with professional and academic qualifications from bachelors up to doctoral level for the most senior positions in the system. The BTC will work side by side teachers in local schools, we will use advance technology to enrich our work and we will welcome teachers to join us on campus as we study our system and help it grow and flourish.
